Rachel: Dear Diary…

Rachel StevensBear necessities

I’ve got a little teddy bear that I always carry around with me. He’s called Squiggles and my mum bought him for me just before we went away. He’s an autographed teddy – all my family and friends have signed him! I’ve also got a little beanie bear called hope.

Home alone

I do need my own space but then again, I’m a people person and I like to have a lot of people around me as well. I love just sitting in my room at night with a cup of tea, chilling out, listening to music with some candles on. At the moment I’m reading a book by Jane Greene and it’s beside my bed. She’s had about four books out now and I used to work for her dad. I read her first book, Straight Talking, and cos I know her, I find it really interesting to follow her career.

Forever friends

I’m a good friend. I think friendship is very important. Good friends don’t come along that often in life. It’s nice to have people who’ll be there for you whatever. I like people who always see the good side, who don’t complain. I can’t bear bitchiness in people or people who moan all the time.

Sleepy head

It’s strange but I don’t think I dream… I’m usually too tired! Tiredness affects in different ways – the other day I began to cry cos I was so tired. I also started to giggle on set too, I’m a terrible giggler and I laugh at really stupid things.

Rachel StevensBlast from the past

If I wasn’t in S Club I’d be back in my old career working in fashion PR. Mind you, I didn’t enjoy it so maybe I’d do something different. I’m the sort of person that if I don’t like something, I’ll just move on to something else straight away. I always knew what I wanted to do, I always knew that this was in my heart and the PR job was just a way of earning a bit of money. I never would have been happy unless I was doing this.

Family values

I really wish all my friends and family could be with me right now. Home is my favourite place. I still live with my parents and I’m a real ‘friends and family’ sort of person. I used to be out with my mates all the time but now I love being home cos I’m away so much. I can’t wait to sit in front of the TV and watch East Enders and have a cup of tea with my mum. Having a chat with her is such a nice thought. That’s how rock ‘n’ roll my life is! I am a party girl really, but not a celebrity party girl. I prefer going out with all my friends!
