Sexy singleton Rachel Stevens was smitten when she met jazz sensation Jamie Cullum – but the shy piano player knocked her back.

Following a recent London gig our spies say the former S Club star only had eyes for the 26-year-old musician at the private party afterwards.

“After the gig, Rachel and her mates were invited to a small exclusive bash. She leapt at the chance to go along,” our insider reveals.

“She went straight over to Jamie to tell him how much she loved the concert and his music. He was all red and flustered by her attentions, mumbling and grinning at her like a schoolboy.

“And she wasn’t just enthusiastic about his performance – she was being properly flirty with him,” our mole continues.

“He was clearly very flattered but he looked like he wished he were somewhere else.

“Then she gave him her phone number saying it would be wicked to hang out some time. She’s usually the one getting all the attention from the men in the room – but that evening she only had eyes for Jamie.”

Rachel, 27, has been single since her relationship with millionaire Gavin Dein ended in September. Previously she was engaged to Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards. But Jamie has been together with his Brazilian lawyer girlfriend Isabella Cannell for more than three years.

Shame, we think they’d make the perfect couple…

And while we imagine Rachel’s been plagued with offers for dates – she insists it’s not so simple.

“I wish I could say the phone hasn’t stop ringing now that I’m single. But unfortunately that’s not the case,” she sadly admitted recently. “I’m looking forward to when the right guy comes along.

“I’ve had a few offers, but it just doesn’t work like that. People just don’t phone me and ask me out for a date.” Why ever not…
