Hannah Spearritt shot to global fame as part of seven piece pop group S Club 7 enjoying a string of hits all over the world.
But when the band split Hannah turned to acting landing one of the core role as Abby in ITV’s sci-fi series Primeval, the third series begins in the new year. I caught up with her to discuss the new series and what lies ahead for her character as well as talking to her about the Pringles Select competition.
Series 3 of Primeval will be back in the new year what can we expect for Abby in the new season?
Well we have got new characters, new creatures again it gets more brave plus there are more episodes this time as well. Abby’s journey, in terms of something that is different from the previous series, a blast from the past, and I won’t say who, but she has somebody who comes back from her past that shocks people especially Connor shaking up their relationship which is exciting. Strictly Come Dancing star Rachel Stevens let fans down this week when she failed to show up to turn on Hard Rock Cafe’s Christmas lights in London.
The former S Club 7 singer was meant to accompany Brendan Cole to the annual event – but the lothario was left to go solo after Rachel had a wardrobe dilemma.
A source said: “Rachel phoned at the last minute and said she was having a disaster with her dress for this weekend’s show.
“It seemed a little drastic, especially considering the show is day’s away.

Spine tingler ... Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simone on Saturday's Strictly
Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simone were banned from training by docs after their stellar performance on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday.
The pint-sized pair’s frisky foxtrot gained the series’ first perfect score. But it came at a price — they both put their backs out.
Medics ordered them to take two days’ rest, while physios and masseurs were drafted in to ease their painful joints.
Insiders told how the duo worked flat out in the run up to the show — with Rachel, 30, determined not to be in the bottom two again.
A source said: “She’s improved amazingly but her body is paying the price.”
Even queen of mean Arlene Phillips praised the pair as “close to perfect. Strictly something special”.
Rachel and Vincent, 29, have got the go-ahead to return to the studio today — but only with medics on stand-by.

Singer Jon Lee flew into the UK from America earlier this month for a very important job – learning how to fly!
The former S Club 7 star is playing Peter Pan in this year’s panto at the White Rock in Hastings and top of his list of things to do was switching on the town’s Christmas lights on November 20, followed by learning his lines and practising how to look graceful while reaching for the stars above the stage of the theatre.
He’s previously starred as Marius in the West End musical Les Miserables, and was Oliver Twist 12 years ago in Oliver! at the London Palladium, but Peter Pan is his first panto.
He’s really looking forward to it. “Everyone can relate to him. All the kids want to be him and go and live in Neverland and not grow up. I just think it’s a great fantasy for all of us. The hero is always fun to play because you tend to survive to the end of the show!”
As the only flying he’s done before has been by jumbo jet – Jon now lives in Los Angeles – he’s excited about learning how to fly with just a wire to aid lift-off.
Ticket sales for the production at the White Rock have soared and are currently running at over twice the level seen in the previous five years.
Peter Pan producer Julian Chenery, who is also the creative force behind Shakespeare 4 Kidz said “We are delighted that the people of East Sussex are getting behind this show. When it was first produced in Croydon it was a five-star smash and since then we’ve made even more improvements to the production.”
“Not only do we have a highly talented – and very funny – troupe of experienced West End actors, but also singers and dancers from Laine Theatre Arts, one of the UK’s top stage schools, as well as local young talent from the Hastings area who will play John and Michael Darling, and of course the Lost Boys.”
Join Jon and a great cast which includes Hastings-based comic actor Steve Furst as Pirate Smee when Peter Pan opens at the White Rock Theatre on December 10.

Gorgeous Rachel Stevens has revealed that Strictly Come Dancing has ruined her sex life.
The curvy star said the sensual new moves she has learned would definitely help her in the bedroom – if only she had the cha-cha chance.
The 30-year-old, who wowed crowds last week with a raunchy rumba, is engaged to actor Alex Bourne.
She told The People: “Doing the rumba can only enhance my love life, but to be honest I am knackered when I get home.
“My poor fiance! I am dead when I get in. As soon as my head hits the pillow I am out.
“I’ve not imposed a sex ban – there’s no need. I just need to sleep.”
The former S Club 7 beauty also told how she has almost flashed her assets at millions of viewers watching the hit show.
She said: “I have a wardrobe malfunction every week. My boobs have nearly fallen out and my backside as well.
“Thank God it’s just been in rehearsals so far, but imagine if it happened live. They really have to tape me in.”
On the departure of John Sergeant, Rachel said: “I think it’s a shame and it’s very sad he has gone.
“But it was a very personal decision and he clearly thought it was his time to leave. We’ve got to respect that.

Strictly between you and me, there’s something about Rachel Stevens that has never quite added up. Normally, if I let slip to my colleagues that I am about to interview a woman who has consistently featured as one of the sexiest women on the planet in every poll that measures such matters, there’s usually a sense of awe and envy.
But with Stevens the opposite is the case. Bizarrely, many people would happily avoid her company. After meeting her, one journalist described the experience as ‘the longest hour of my life – it was like attempting to interview a wardrobe’.
And it wasn’t just the press. DJ Chris Moyles once commented, ‘I know she’s meant to be really fit but she’s really boring.’ Scissor Sisters vocalist Ana Matronic went even further, remarking, ‘Rachel Stevens has all the personality of a slice of toast.’
Part of the problem has always been that she often struggled to live up to her billing as S Club 7’s resident sexpot. She sold 16 million records with the band between 1999 and 2003, before going on to record two solo albums. After which she more or less disappeared from view. Now, after three years in the showbiz wilderness, she’s back as a contestant in Strictly Come Dancing.
Despite her reputation, she couldn’t be more exuberant at today’s shoot, taking to the role of an atomic pin-up starlet like she was born to it. In fact, over a morning together, Stevens turns out to be the very opposite of what I’d been led to expect as she talks openly and passionately about her lonely childhood, her parents’ divorce, her estrangement from her father, her stint in therapy and her love-hate relationship with fame. Rachel Stevens has admitted that she is hoping to capitalise on her Strictly Come Dancing stint once she completes work on the show.
The former S Club singer has reportedly hired the same publicist as Alesha Dixon, who is relaunching her pop career after winning the BBC One ballroom competition in 2007.
“I’m back now and there are so many things I want to do with acting, fashion, everything,” Stevens revealed. “But that’s what’s so brilliant – lots of opportunities come up, and so many doors can be opened.”
Reports suggest that Stevens broke down in tears after finding herself in the bottom two on the programme earlier this month.
“I’m bloody competitive,” she confessed. “It’s the same with everything I do – give me a board game with my fiancé and I’m like: ‘Right then…’ On Strictly, it’s building and building as the weeks go on.”

Ex-S Club 7 singer Jo O’Meara was rushed to hospital last night after being struck by a glass bottle thrown during a concert.
The 29-year-old – who was embroiled in the 2007 Celebrity Big Brother race row – was left with a two-inch head wound after a bottle was thrown at a gig at the Tokyo nightclub in Bradford.
O’Meara had taken to the stage with former bandmates Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole as they attempt to launch a comeback.
But their reunion was cut short after only 15 minutes when O’Meara collapsed to her knees having been struck on the head by the glass.
Cattermole, 31, helped her of stage as 27-year-old McIntosh yelled at 900-strong crowd: “It takes just one idiot to ruin everybody’s night.”
He added: “If you are going to throw a glass, throw it at me… you had to spoil it.”
O’Meara was treated in hospital and later allowed to return to her London home.
“We were all having a great time until the incident and would like to apologise to fans that our set was cut short”, she told the Sun newspaper.
West Yorkshire police said a 20-year-old white man had been arrested and was being questioned about the incident.
O’Meara went into hiding in 2007 out of fear of a public backlash over the alleged bullying of Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother.
The singer, model Danielle Lloyd and reality TV star Jade Goody were accused of racism over their treatment of the Bollywood actress.
